Ooooo it’s starting to look like a studio now! I’m getting all tingly with anticipation. This phase was the major space shaper. We hit the IKEA website and found this Traby bookcase system to separate the studio half from the garage half as well as providing a great storage solution for 10×10 sheet and other materials

For fun, looks, and a neat way to add some light we picked up some corrugated metal sheet and lumber to construct this industrial chic awning to house an overhead shop light as well as adding a little flair to the space. I love the look of metal and wood contrasting against one another so we also added some decorative and functional heat shielding behind the kiln. We plan to add anothe few panels along the opposing wall to balance it out but since I’m getting impatient to fire up my baby it may wait for a bit. Almost done! Stay tuned for the last installment of finishing touches…
